Anthonie M. LUYK was born August 15th.-1913 in The HAGUE - HOLLAND.
From the year 1934 untill 1945 He served as Reserve Infantry Officer.
July 1th.-1945 He joined the ROYAL DUTCH MARINE CORPS as A Captain Royal Marines.
January 1th.1947 promoted: MAJOR
June 1th.-1956 promoted: LIEUTENANT-COLONEL
January 1th.-1963 promoted: COLONEL
February 16th.-1967 promoted: GENERAL-MAJOR and COMMANDER of THE ROYAL DUTCH MARINE CORPS (FOUNDED DECEMBER 10th.-1665 !) Retired April 10th.-1970.
He was an IRON ROYAL MARINE in the best tradition of the
Royal Dutch Marine Corps.
Proud Bearer of many High Decorations.
General LUYK died March 10th.-1990 in His Hometown,The HAGUE - HOLLAND and buried on the Local Cemetery.
Rest in Peace General, your Marines will never forget you !
