PADUCAH - Albert Carl Marshall, 76, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Cody McCain and Charlie Malmberg officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home.
Albert was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Matador to Mack Darrell and Ida Ozborn Marshall. He grew up in Matador and graduated high school with the Matador class of 1947. He was a lifetime resident of Motley and Cottle counties.
Albert later joined the U.S. Army and served our country while stationed in Germany. After his time in the Army, Albert went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He retired from the USDA as a district director after 42 years of service.
On Aug. 3, 1975, Albert married LaWanda Moss in Lubbock. He was a member of Paducah First Baptist Church and also a Mason. Albert received his 50-year Masonic Lodge pin several years ago. He also served as the Democratic chairman of Cottle County for 10 years. Albert was a hard-working man who still managed to find the time to contribute to his community. He will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his family that he loved so much.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, LaWanda Marshall; four daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Don McCain of Ardmore, Okla., Jana and George Malmberg and Laura and Richard Polchloper, all of San Antonio, and Shanna and Vance Porter of Lubbock; a sister, Frances Mitchell of Matador; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
