The following obituary appeared in the Philadelphia Public Ledger for Monday, April 20, 1857, Page 2.

"On the 19th inst., JACOB ROSE, son of John and Julia Flannery, in the 6th year of his age.
"The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the residence of his parents, Lemon and Vienna streets, on Tuesday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, without further notice."


Jacob was buried in American Mechanics Cemetery in Philadelphia. That cemetery was closed in 1951, and is now defunct.

In 1951 Jacob Rose's remains were removed from American Mechanics Cemetery, along with those of his parents, John F. and Julia (Pray) Flannery, and re-interred in Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
