KOONTZ LAKE -- Services for Earl M. Jeffrey, 73, Koontz Lake, who died Sunday night in the Bowling Green Medical Center, Bowling Green, Ky., following a heart attack, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Rev. Anthony Letko, pastor of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Walkerton, will officiate. Burial will be in the Grovertown Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services at the funeral home.
He was born on Dec. 2, 1909, in Budd, Ill., and had lived in the Koontz Lake area for the past 25 years, coming here from Chicago. In 1935 he married Edna Walgren and on Jan. 9, 1971, in Walkerton, he married Harriett Banasiak, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, Thomas of Palos Heights, Ill.; William of Washington, D. C.; and Earl Jr. of Glenwood, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Arthur (Delores) Borrelli of Koontz Lake, Mrs. John (Leona) Stanger of Crown Point, and Mrs. Nancy Ecklund of Houston, Tex.; and 15 grandchildren. He retired from Commonwealth Edison where he had been a stationary engineer. He was a member of the Avalon Damascus Lodge 888, F&AM, Tinley Park, Ill.
