A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Saturday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
Blanche was born February 2, 1941 in Michigan, North Dakota to the late Stanley Mayer and the late Alice Sirek Mayer, and passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her residence, with her family at her side.
Mrs. Blanche was a homemaker but also attended and graduated from nursing school. After working with the local hospitals, she began a new position that brought her great joy as Activity Coordinator for both New Iberia Manor North and South Nursing Homes. She had a passion for traveling, having been to many places in the United States, but truly enjoyed her visits back home to North Dakota to visit with family and friends.
She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne White and wife Lou Vercher White and Chuck White and wife Tammy Helveston White all of New Iberia; five grandchildren, Brittney White, Nicholas White, Brennan White, Breigh White and Blayde White; one great granddaughter, Lillian White; her sisters, Marcella Haugen, Stella Shirek, and Judy Larson; her brothers, Jim Mayer and George Mayer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of first marriage, Goldman Wayne White; husband of second marriage, John Additon; and her brothers and sisters, Gus Mayer, Stanley Mayer, Otto Mayer, Alice Wimer and Roseanne Erickson.
