The final chapter was completed in the life of Rosa McFadden Cyrus as she slipped into eternal rest on August 5, 2015, at McLeod Hospital of Florence, South Carolina.
Rosa M. Cyrus was the daughter of the late Oscar and Sarah McFadden. She was born December 2, 1942. Rosa attended Williamsburg County School system. She was a member of Greater St. Mark AME Church. Rosa moved to the Bronx, New York. There she met and married the late Luther Cyrus. To this union two children were born. Rosa later joined Bethel Temple Church. She served as president of the Gospel Choir and the usher board for three years. She also served on the church Board of Trustee and Building Fund.
Rosa was a gifted soft spoken woman. After relocating back to South Carolina., she loved spending time on the outside in her yard taking care of her flowers. She loved to walk for exercise. She was a person that loved nature. Fishing was one of her hobbies. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Rosa was preceded in death by three siblings, James McFadden, Thomas McFadden, and Betty McFadden.
She leaves to cherish and carry on her legacy two daughters; Carol Williams of Florida and Shelia Cyrus of the home; five grandchildren; Deshaun, Jewel, Malasia, Robert all of the home and Moulton of Florida; four sisters, Janie Washington of Miami, Florida, Ruth Nesmith of Hemingway, South Carolina, Angela (Kevin) Washington of Miami, Florida and Lory (Samuel) Wilson of Hemingway, South Carolina; three aunts, Clemetine McFadden, Mae Lewis, and Christine Blue; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
