Louisa Charlotte Anderson was born in Hyckling Parish, Ostergotland, Sweden, on the 3rd of March 1835. At the age of seventeen she came with a brother to America going first to Andover. Up to the time of her marriage she lived in Andover, Geneseo and Galesburg. March 13, 1857, she was united in marriage to Samuel G. Strand (Samuel Gustave Åstrand) at Geneseo. To them was born one son, Charles J. Strand, who now lives at Laurel, Nebraska. Her husband died June 27, 1859. She was again married November 30, 1861, to Nels P. Anderson, who survives her. The fruit of this union was seven children, three of whom died in infancy. Those living are Mrs. Ida E. Abrahamson, Mrs. Emily V. Roberts, Albert C. and Frank E. Anderson. Besides these an adopted daughter, Alice E. Lindquist, mourns the demise as that of a mother.

Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Anderson resided at Andover for eighteen years and then came to Oxford township and located upon the homestead three miles northeast of town from which they removed to this place in 1890. For twelve years Mrs. Anderson was a sufferer from a lingering disease and for the last two years and a half had scarcely been able to leave her room. Very much of the time her sufferings were intense. The end however, which came at about 6 o'clock Monday morning, March 21, was peaceful and she was conscious to the last, From her girlhood she had been an earnest and consistent member of the M. E. Church, being connected at the time of her death with the church at Swedona. In health she was an active worker in the church and Sunday school and lived the life of an exemplary Christian woman, true to all her relations in life. One brother A. M. Anderson of Woodhull, and two sisters, Mrs. Cristina Johnson of Andover and Mrs. Caroline Soderstrand of New Windsor, survive the deceased. There are also twelve living grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Swedish Lutheran Church of this place on Wednesday at 2 o'clock p.m., Rev. Valenius of Andover preaching the funeral sermon.

Charles J. Strand of Laurel, Nebraska came in Sunday evening arriving in time to be present at the death and burial of his mother, Mrs. Nels P. Anderson.
