Died, December 6, 2011, at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, in Commerce, MI. She was born in Ypsilanti, on November 11, 1930, the daughter of Harry and Floy Stoltz. After being raised in Ypsilanti, Barbara attended the University of Michigan, where she received her degree in piano and organ performance. Barbara's life was defined by her love of music. She worked as an editor for the U of M Musical Society for over 20 years, and as a church organist for over 30 years. She instilled this same love of music in all of her children. She was a devoted mother and friend who lived a life of strength and grace. She died peacefully with her daughters at her side, following a five year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is survived by her children: David Ferguson, Carrie (Bill) O'Neill, Amy (Dave) Reed and Alec (Karina) Williams; grandchildren: Eric, Tom, William, Kevin, Sam, Caroline, Amanda, Candace and Jacob, as well as one sister, Celia Metcalf. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Eleanor Harlow and Jane Flowers.
