James Michael Addis was born in Baltimore Maryland on May 22,1948 to James and Grace Addis (nee Valdivia) and lived in the Glen Burnie area for over 45 years. He worked as a quality control inspector for Kopoflex for 39 years prior to his retirement. A graduate of City High School in Baltimore,Jim served honorably in the Coast Guard during Viet Nam conflict aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Half Moon. He served in Viet Nam for 2 years and received National Defense Medal,Bronze Star Viet Nam Service Medal,Good Conduct Medal and the Viet Nam Campaign Medal He was an avid Orioles and Ravens Fan as well as a Nascar fan where Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver.Jim also enjoyed Astronomy and trips to Ocean City.He is survived by his wife Kathy Addis (nee Phillips) of Glen Burnie,his son Steven M Addis of Glen Burnie,daughter Laura Addis of Sherman Texas,brother Richard Addis of LaLuz NM. grandchildren Kaitlyn and Alexis Addis of Glen Burnie and Carbrina and Dylan Addis of Sherman Texas.He will also be missed by his first wife Sharon L Anderson of Boone NC. Special cousins Buzzy and Jesse Valdivia,brother and sister-in-law Joan and David Anderson of Boone NC. and many nephews,neices and cousins.Jim passed away suddenly at his home on August 14,2015.Family and friends will gather at the family owned Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home P.A 421 Crain Hwy.
