Carrsville- Drew Franklin Dixon, 69, passed away August 18, 2015. He was born in Suffolk and was a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County. He was predeceased by his parents, Sheriff B.F. Dixon and Ida Virginia Dixon and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Drew was a 1965 graduate of Windsor High School, an US Air Force Veteran (1966-1970), a graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College and a graduate of the FBI National Academy. Drew served with the Franklin Police Department from 1971 to 1984 and with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Department from 1984 to 1987 and more recently was the owner of Dashiell’s in Suffolk.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carole Rose Dixon, a daughter, Jennifer D. Railey (Edward) a son, Lee F. Dixon and five grandchildren, Addison, Caroline, Carson and Chaney Hutto and Jackson Railey.
A graveside funeral will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ben R. Duffey officiating.
