Mary H. Bednar, of Dawes Avenue, Kingston, died Tuesday night at Valley Crest Nursing Home, where she had been a guest.

Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Mahalick and Victoria Antos Mahalick Oleksy. She attended Swoyersville schools.

She resided most of her life in Swoyersville, moving to Kingston six years ago.

She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin B., in 1968; a stepfather who raised her, Joseph Oleksy; brother, Adam Oleksy; sister, Anna Ambrose.

Surviving are her daughter, Helen Oliveri, with whom she resided; brothers, Joseph Oleksy, Wilton, Conn.; Edward Oleksy, Stratford, Conn.; sisters, Helen Oleksy and Alice Yurchision, both of Swoyersville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the Joseph L. Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Czestochowa Church.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
