Zenith Marylyn Richmond Steinberger was the daughter of Howard Richmond and Mary Fuhrman Richmond Gremler born on June 25, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. Zenith's father passed away while Zenith was 3 years old. Her mother then married Ernest Gremler in 1939 and while Zenith was young they relocated to Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. It was here that Zenith spent much of her younger life. She met my mother Meriel Steinberger Sterling and they became best of friends and went to many school and sporting events together. When Meriel's brother John William "Jack" Steinberger returned from serving in WW II they became interested in each other and fell in love. They married on June 4, 1949 in Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky. Jack was already living in Gould City, Mackinac County, Michigan helping to build the Berger resort with his parents. (The resort later was renamed Beaver Bay Resort.) Jack and Zenith stayed in a camper trailer at the time. While in the upper peninsula of Michigan they had their first child.

Jack and Zenith later moved to Brighten, Livingston County, Michigan and had their second child:

Zenith was a loyal wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In 1976 Jack and Zenith purchased the ranch home built by Jack's father Ralph Irvin Steinberger, as his mother Alice was moving to Houston, Harris County, Texas where she lived many years with her eldest daughter. Jack and Zenith then moved to Gould City, Mackinac County, Michigan and lived there for many years and saw the wolves reintroduced to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Zenith loved to crochet and sold many of her creations at crafting events and often took special orders. Zenith and Jack also loved to feed the birds and enjoyed many song birds and hummingbirds who graced their feeders for many years.
Later Zenith and Jack moved to Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, New Mexico where they both loved the cultural atmosphere and the beauty of the landscape. At sunset the mountains in view from their home turn lovely shades of pinks and golden.
Zenith was wonderful to talk with and always had many fascinating stories to tell about the family, as well as her husband Jack.
Zenith is loved deeply and greatly missed by the family and friends.
