Fred Norman "Papaw" Arrowood, age 73, of Marion, died Friday, March 28, 2003 at his residence.

Mr. Arrowood was born in McDowell County, December 28, 1929, to the late Vernon S. and Hattie Davis Arrowood.

He retired from Broyhill Furniture Co. after 23 years of service.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and loved fishing. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Doris Callahan Arrowood, of the home; one son, Jamie Arrowood and fiancé, Sheila, of Marion; three daughters, Gina Holland and husband, Terry, of Marion, Jennifer Aldridge and husband, Tim, of Marion, and Joy Allison and husband, Michael, of Marion; two brothers, John and Dean Arrowood of Marion; two sisters, Lucille Cowan of Marion and Betty Medsker of Missouri; special friends, Andy, Richard and Albert; ten grandchildren, Dustin, Gioia, Brittanie, C.J., Selina, Justin, Krista, Ryan, Katie and Alex.

Burial will be in Ridgeway Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
