Hans H. Linder was born in O'Brien County on September 17, 1900, and died August 4, 1958, at the age of 57 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

He received his grade and high school education in the Paullina schools.

On June 12, 1926, he was united in marriage to Edna Carlson. To them were born two children. One died in infancy. The other is James W. Linder of Bremerton, Washington.

Hans was an honored and well-liked citizen of the community. For the major portion of his business life he was associated with the oil and gas trade. He was a member of the Methodist Church, greatly interested in the welfare of his community and active in planning the recent 75th anniversary celebration of the town.

A brother, Chris Linder, and a sister, Alvena Harris preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; a son, James W. and Mrs. Linder, and three grandchildren Randy, Rickey and Valerie of Bremerton, Washington; a step-brother, Rudolph Prinitz of Calumet; a niece, Marjorie Giberson of Des Moines; a nephew, Robert Harris of Dallas, Texas and many other relatives and friends.

Hans Linder, bulk distributor of Skelly Oil products at Paullina and employed in this industry the past 32 years, active in civic and church affairs, died Monday morning at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee of a heart attack which struck him just one week earlier while he was at work. He was 57 years old.

A son, James, summoned from his home at Bremerton, Washington, arrived Friday.

In highly critical condition from the time of the attack, he showed considerable improvement Saturday, but his condition worsened Sunday and death came about 11 Monday.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1:30 at Gaudian Funeral Home and at 2:00 at the Methodist church. The Rev. Frank Davies was the officiating clergyman. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.
