Alden Stark was born in 1878 at Lyme, NH, son of David and Mary (Runnals) Stark. He spent his boyhood and youth there and attended Lyme schools. After his marriage to Harriet Runnals on 3 January 1900 in Lyme, they moved to East Thetford and to them were born nine children.
The family moved to Wells River in 1917. For 20 years he was employed on the railroad and later did papering and painting. For several years he had been in failing health and unable to work. He died on February 17, 1951 at the Woodsville, NH hospital.
