November 28, 1953- August 16, 2015 Margaret Ann Moore Acosta, 61, died Sunday August 16, 2015 at her home in Winnfield, Louisiana. Margaret was born November 28, 1953 in Batesville, Mississippi and graduated from South Panola High School in 1971. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Piano from Mississippi State University in 1975, a Master of Music plus 30 in Music Education from Northwestern State University in 1984, and a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Louisiana Tech University in 1995. While at Mississippi State, Margaret was a four-year member of the Famous Maroon Band as a majorette. She was also a member of the university clarinet choir, a member of Sigma Alpha Iota honorary music sorority and Chi Omega sorority. Margaret was retired from the Winn Parish School System after 27 years as a music teacher, special education teacher and school guidance counselor. She served as organist for First Presbyterian Church in Winnfield for fifteen years. In addition, she had been music accompanist for several other churches including First Methodist Church and Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield, and Saint Lucy Catholic Church in Hodge. Margaret was preceded in death by her father James Hal Moore. She is survived by her husband Tony Acosta and her daughters Adrienne Daughtry and husband Jamie of Pineville, Louisiana and Angeline DiBenedetto and husband Josh of Pascagoula, Mississippi. She is also survived by her mother Mildred Moore of Pope, Mississippi, her brother Hal Moore of Nesbit, Mississippi and three sisters: Jane Hall and husband Harold of Greenville, South Carolina; Carol Bullard and husband Rickey of Pope, Mississippi; and Arlene Baker and husband Mike of Mount Dora, Florida. As a gift to science, Margaret donated her body through MedCure for cancer research and medical education. A celebration of her life will be observed at a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church in Winnfield at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Her family will begin receiving friends at 9:30 AM in the fellowship hall until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Community Food Pantry, P.O.
