Services for Mr. Neilson Bonnette will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Tom Jordan, Reverend Stephen Richardson and Reverend Jesse Littleton officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Moncla.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Bonnette, 85, of Pineville passed from this life, Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his residence.

He was a life member of VFW, Post 1736, where he was a Past Commander. He was also Past Commander of the Military of the Order of the Coties. He proudly served his country in the Army, serving in the Korean War, where he received two Bronze Stars. Mr. Bonnette was in the construction business, building homes, house mover and later he was the owner and operator of N. J. Bonnette House Leveling Business. He was a sponsor of Ward 10 Sports programs. He loved fishing and hunting. Mr. Bonnette loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed and never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emeric Louis and Janet Agnes Dauzart Bonnette; brothers, Stanley Bonnette, Tedris Bonnette, Wiley Bonnette; sister, Shirley Mayeaux.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Beverly Ann Nichols Bonnette; sons, Timothy Bonnette and wife, Rose, Johnny Bonnette; daughters, Patricia Driggers and Chuck Couvillion, Cheryl Barrett and husband, Dennis, Lisha Barrett and husband, Kerry; sisters, Nelda Bordelon, Genevieve Mayeaux and husband, Marion; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Mr. Bonnettes caregiver, Angela Sewell.

Pallbearers will be John Bonnette, Tim Bonnette, Tim E. Bonnette, John Adam Edwards, David Ponthieux, Chuck Couvillion. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Ponthieux, Justin Barrett, Kenny Neal, Carlton Ponthieux, Sam Karahalis, Chris Harrell, Oliver D. Nichols and Derek Calloway.
