Samuel J. Allen, 64 died unexpectedly at his home, 329 W. Keota Street, in Ottumwa.
Samuel was the son of son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Allen, born in Davis County on Oct. 11, 1989. He was married to Lucille Cassill in 1945 at Lancaster, Mo., and she survives.
A locomotive engineer on the C B & Q Railroad, he had been employed by the railroad for the past 40 years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
