Douglas "Wayne" "Bootman" Adkins, of Columbiaville, age 76, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Pastor Bruce Malicoat officiating. Burial will be in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors from 2-8 PM on Wednesday. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service. Douglas was born in Essex, MO on March 30, 1937, son of the late Adam and Ila (Peck) Adkins. He married Helen McQueen on June 18, 1955. Douglas retired as a Painter/ Glazer from Chevy in the Hole
in 1985. He enjoyed carving cowboy boots, gardening and baking. He loved his family and friends and spending the winters in Florida. Douglas is survived his wife of 58 years,
Helen; children, Angela (Carl) Niles, Douglas Adkins, Rick (Pamela) Adkins; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Franklin (Agnes), Shirley (Dudley) Scott, Buck (Mary); many nieces and nephews.
