Madeline J. Cochran, age 87, of Midland died Thursday November 21, 2013 at Hearts Content Adult Foster Care Home in Breckenridge. The daughter of the late Benjamin and Lydia (Hauri) Stockton was born June 5, 1926 in Midland. Madeline enjoyed crocheting, fishing at Bear Lake, making pies and playing cards. She especially enjoyed being with family at holiday gatherings. She will be missed by her family and many friends. On November 28, 1945 she married Charles O. Cochran in Midland and after almost 63 years of married he died on November 19, 2008.

Madeline is survived by her daughter, Brenda F. Riggie of Midland; sister, L. Grace Melchi of Midland; daughter-in-law, RoseMary Cochran; son-in-law, Laurence DuFort; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, Daniel B. Cochran; daughter, Sharon J. DuFort; son in law, Michael E. Riggie; and brothers, Harland, Wayne and Frank Stockton.
Funeral and committal services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday November 25, 2013 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Madeline’s nephew the Rev. Steve Melchi officiating. Interment will be in Homer Township Cemetery. There will be no visitation time before the service. Memorials maybe offered to the Alzheimer’s Association MidMichigan Chapter and Hearts Content Adult Foster Care Home.
