"SUFFERED A STROKE - Mrs. Phebe Guthrie Passed Away Sunday Afternoon - Mrs. Phebe Guthrie had a stroke of paralysis on her right side last Thursday and gradually grew worse until her death relieved her suffering Sunday. Phebe McKay was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, daughter of James and Sarah [Sloolfire] McKay
She was a member of a Large family.

When fifteen years old she came with her parents to Illinois and settled in Shelby County.

She united in marriage June 7, 1855 to Wesley Jones and this union were born three children, Senator W. L. Jones of Washington, Calvin Jones who died about a year ago in Washington and Olive who preceded her mother.

She was married to David Guthrie October 14, 1867 and to this union were born two children. Attorney W. P. Guthrie of Twin Falls, Idaho and Mrs. Ray Coleman of this place.

She was member of the Presbyterian church and when able attended the services.
