John was born in Waunakee and spent his short life in the Waunakee area. [Born at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison (Birth announcement published in the The Capital TImes, 17 Feb 1947, Mon., page 18)]
He was a freshmen at Waunakee High School and was a member of St. John's Congregation and the Holy Name Society.
Besides his parents, he is survived by five sisters, Ruth Ann, Lucia, Mary, Grace and Cynthia, and three brothers, Robin, Theodore and Daniel, all at home; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tubbs, Coldwater, Mich. [Henry and Ola Storey Tubbs], and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John J. Maier, Cross Plains.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Schwab funeral home and at 9:30 in St. John's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Raymond Ziegler, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
