Chester was born in Grant Co., IN., son of Theodore Samuel Kierstead 1883-1958 and Cordelia Belle Lee 1885-1974. He married Wilma Jean Pickett on 25 Sep 1925 at their home on Maple St., Jonesboro, Grant, IN. He was an electricial by trade and a life long member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. After retiring he sold his home in Indiana and moved to Michigan to be closer to his youngest son and his family. He died at his sons home in Watervliet, Berrien, Michigan
