Audrey Freels Wood, age 91, of Clinton, TN passed away early Sunday morning at 12:05 am, at the Life Care Center of Morgan County. Audrey was born on June 14, 1924 and is the daughter of the late Sam and Bessie Fields Freels. She was married to the late Robert C. Wood, for almost 50 years. She was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church in Marlow, where she taught Sunday School and volunteered in vacation Bible School for several years because of her love for God and children. She graduated from Robertsville High School and worked at Alcoa Aluminum, K-25, and for Anderson Co. Schools Day Care until her retirement. Audrey loved being with family, reading her Bible, taking care of a garden, going on vacations to the beach, and taking care of her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she is also preceded in death by her siblings, Beulah Freels Galbraith and husband Bob, Marie Freels Daugherty and husband Harvey, Hugh Freels, Herbert Freels and wife Lillian, Joe Freels, Elinor Freels Gallion and husband Elmer, Margaret Freels Hoskins and husband Alfred, Jean Freels Simmons and husband Earl, Jack Freels and wife Avon, Deannie Freels Stone, Alfred Freels, and infant sister.

The family will have a graveside service 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Anderson Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Poplar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PCBC, 490 Marlow Circle, Clinton, TN 37716.
