Charles R. "Bob" Tinsley, of New Stanton, formerly of Arona, passed away Father's Day, Saturday, June 19, 2011, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 22, 1926, in Greensburg. Prior to his retirement, Bob drove trucks for 38 years with B&P Motor Express, Turnpike Motor Express and Leonard Brothers. He was also a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a member of Teamsters Local 30, Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion of Greensburg.

He was born to the late Charles "Red" and Sarah Simpson Tinsley.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Tish; and two sisters, Doris Alcorn and Sara Jane Hawkins.

He is survived by three children: son, Robert C. Tinsley and his wife, Mara, of Leeper, daughter, Terry C. Moore and her husband, Russell, of Bear Rocks, and son, Randy S. Tinsley and his wife, Debbie, of Blairsville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Stout, of Greensburg, Lois Beveridge, of Greensburg, Shirley Capasso, of Greensburg, Linda Wallace, of Ohio, and Donna Hornick, of Greensburg.

Our dad was a proud man of his home and family. He loved traveling with his children and grandchildren. Every year, he attended the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla. Dad enjoyed going to Kings and McDonalds with his friends. He had a message for all of them, So long, it's been a good ride! Our family would like to thank Hospice, Excela Health, Lou Ann, Tina, Kathy, Angie and staff, Dr. Waas and staff for all of their care and compassion to our parents over the years.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the BEATTY-RICH FUNERAL HOME, Main Street, Madison. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Almon Birt officiating. Burial with military honors accorded by VFW Post 33 of Greensburg will follow at St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to Hospice, Excela Health, 134 Industrial Park Road, Suite 1600, Greensburg, PA 15601.
