Funeral services for Mr. George Lawrence Kinney, age 78, of Bastrop will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop with the Rev. Buddy Kinney officiating.
Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Stevenson Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.
George L. Kinney was born June 2, 1927 in Morehouse Parish to the late Lawrence Oliver and Ivera McKoin Kinney. He passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Morehouse General Hospital. Along with his parents, Mr. Kinney is preceded in death by his wife; Clara Belle Kinney, brothers; Jimmy Kinney and Ralph Kinney, grandson; Newton Freeland, and brother-in-law; Edward Brown.
Mr. George is survived by two sons; Joey Kinney of Bastrop and Kenneth Freeland and wife Lori of Bastrop, grandchildren; Heather and Taylor Freeland of Bastrop, two brothers; Gene Kinney and wife Sue of Bastrop, Theodore Kinney and wife Opal of Bastrop, sister; Shirley Brown of Bastrop, sister-in-law; Jackie Kinney of Bastrop, and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Tharp, Kirk Doles, Mike O'Neal, James Hayes, Terry Pullin, and Mike Hinton.
