Mary Cauffman was born in July of 1902 to Lizzie and Joe Knox. Mary was brought to her Aunt Annie's house to live with her mother and Aunt after Annie ran her father Joe off the property and her father never came back. Mary and her Mother Lizzie experienced unspeakable abuse and Mary eventually ran away from Annie's farm and marred three different husbands who all died before she did. Mary had two children Irene Cotton and William Dauphin and raised them to be honest and kind children. Mary housed and cared for her mother until her death. Mary lived 29 years more and is buried by her first and greatest love, Lewis Cauffman.
