Obituary: Mrs. Etta Brown Bethany, 76 of Bessemer Ala., died Monday at the Bessemer Hospital after a one week illness. She is the widow of Alex Bethany, formerly of Corinth, Mississippi. She is survived by a son, Dewitt Curtis of Corinth; a daughter, Robbie Reed of Bessemer; two brothers, Gib Brown of Shiloh Park, Tenn. and Hayes Brown of Savannah, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Springer of Bakersfield, Calif., Mrs. Ethel Gattis of Savannah, Tenn., and Mrs. Josie Winningham of Memphis, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Norma Lee Ryan of Taylor and Mrs. Michie Sullivan of Memphis; three grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren. McPeters Funeral Directors are in charge.
