Paul Richard Abel, 61, of Shelburn, Ind., passed away July 13, 2015, at Union Hospital. He was born Jan. 3, 1954, in Terre Haute, to Richard E. Abel Sr. and Veneda Abel.
Paul was employed as a truck driver. He served in the United States Army. Paul enjoyed trains and airplanes and collected models. He liked fishing, camping, guns and travel and was an avid reader.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marilyn Jividen Abel.
In honor of Paul's wishes, cremation was chosen. Graveside series are 2 p.m. Friday Aug. 28, at Roselawn Memorial Park. Janice Smith will officiate. Military honors will be performed by American Legion Kriestenstein Post 104. Abel, Jr.; grandchild, Devon Hazekamp, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. In honor of Paul’s wishes, cremation was chosen. Graveside services will be Friday, August 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park. Janice Smith will be officiating. Military honors will be performed by American Legion Kriestenstein Post 104. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804 was entrusted with care and arrangements. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
