• Funeral services for former Princeton mayor, Floyd N. Avery, 87, of 915 S. Main, were held Saturday, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Mr. Avery died Thursday afternoon in Perry Memorial Hospital.

• He was born Jan. 8, 1893, in Albion, Mich., to Fred A. and Mabel Newton Avery. He married Harriet Briggs April 18, 1915, in Princeton.

• Mr. Avery was Princeton's mayor for 12 years. He owned and operated Avery's Dry Cleaning here for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Princeton Elks Lodge, and a 50-year member of Lodge 587, AF & AM. He was a former member of Princeton Rotary Club.

• Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Ann) Mickow of Princeton; and two grandchildren.
