Maurice E. "Maury" Martin, Jr., 92, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012. Born July 13, 1920 in Lincoln, the son of Maurice E. and Maude (Wilson) Martin.
WWII U. S. Army Air Corps veteran. Served three years as aerial engineer, instructor and personal affairs consultant. Retired after 35 years from the Dept. of Labor in accounting. Member and elder of Bethany Christian Church and served in various other capacities of the church. Also, a member of Western Lodge #2, A.F. & A.M. in Nebraska City, and the American Legion Post #3 in Lincoln. He was active in the Boy Scouts and Credit Union movements.
Family members include: his wife of 65 years, K. Louise Martin; sons: John W. (Janice) Martin, Paul A. (Judy) Martin; daughter, Patricia L. (Bruce) Schomaker; grandchildren: Chris, Scott, Aaron and Sarah Martin, Daniel (Anastasiya) Schomaker and Christine (Ryan) Caldwell; great grandsons: Dylan and Nicholas.
Preceded in death by parents.
Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 'O' Street. No visitation, cremation. Prior private family interment. Memorials to Bethany Christian Church.
