Joseph Tarpley "Tarp" Fincher, son of Thomas Fincher and Lucinda McClendon, was born 24 August, 1826 Henry Co. AL., and died 06 April, 1909 Randolph Co. AL.

He married Matilda "Tilda" Ann Rebecca Wyatt, born 1830 to 1832 in AL; died 24 June 1892 in Randolph County. She died of "slow fever" and is buried in Zion Church Cemetery in Randolph Co. Tilda was an only child. Her mother was an only child, the name of her parents are not known.

1. Martha Ann Fincher, born 1849 AL., and died before 1860.

2. William "Bill" Thomas Clark Fincher, born 4 February, 1849 Chambers Co., AL. He married (1) Lucy Disharoon Kitchens, born 1852 AL; died 1880-83 Chambers County. He married (2) Annie R. (unknown)

3. Lucinda "Sis" Elizabeth Fincher, born 4 November, 1850 Chambers County, and died 11 January, 1919. She married James Fields.

4. Sarah Ann Hassatini Fincher, born 24 January, 1852 AL. and died April 1858.

5. John Henry Fincher, born 2 August, 1855 AL. He married (1) Mary Jane Fetner and (2) Mrs. Spivey Possibly also married to a Kitchens.

6. Mary Frances "Frank" Fincher, born 19 April, 1858 AL., and died 30 March 1942. Married Alfred Pierce Sikes.

7. Joseph "Joe" Wesley Fincher, born 18 March, 1861 AL., died 30 November, 1937 or 1 January, 1938 in Harris Co., TX. He married (1) Mary Amanda Leolar Stevens (called "Leolar")She was born 1867 in GA., daughter of William Lamar Stevens and Margaret Sara Elizabeth Crouch, both from GA.

Parents of Margaret Sara Elizabeth Crouch were Thomas Wade Crouch, Sr. born about 1825 GA., who was killed at Gettysburg PA., and Mary Jane Ray, born 1831 GA; died 1910 Bell Co., TX. William and Margaret moved to Rogers, Little River, Bell County, TX., in 1872.

The Stevens, Fincher, Crouch, Talley and Ray families all relatives or in-laws moved to Bell County, Texas, from AL. They were looking for good farm land.

Joe and Amanda moved to the central Texas area after other family members sent word that there in fact was much good farm land available. So Joe and Amanda went by train to Calvert, TX., and by oxen and wagon to Little River, Bell Co. Later they moved to a farm they rented near Lott, Falls Co., TX.

Leolar and several of her children are buried at Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott, Falls County. Joe and Leolar had 13 children before she divorced him. He then moved to South Texas and married again and had more children.

8. Martha Ann Malissa Fincher, born 24 April, 1864 AL.; died 6 July 1947. She married a Mr. McCurry.

9. James Manson "Manny" Fincher, born 10 December, 1867 AL. Died 6 February, 1933. He married Ada Kitchens

10. Cynthia Manerva Fincher, born 8 January, 1870 Randolph Co., AL.; died 1943. She married Dozier Brown.
11. Ella Rebecca Fincher, born 7 June, 1872 Randolph County, AL., and died 22 Nov 1954. She married Benjamin Franklin Dewberry.
