Last Friday morning occurred the sudden death of Joseph Howell. He had been having trouble with his lungs for a week or more and the day before hed died pneumonia set in and that with a weak heart, soon caused his death at the age of nearly 61 years. Mr. Howell was raised a Quaker, and, according to request, a private funeral was held at the residence at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Yaggy. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. Hew leaves to mourn his loss a brother, wife and three daughters, Katie, who is in Kansas; Mrs. Frank Fleckner and Esther, of Monticello.
