She married Charles Edward Knight on September 6, 1952, and they enjoyed 40 happy years of marriage before Sue's early death in 1992. At that time, she was survived by her husband, Charlie; daughter, Tammy; sisters, Elizabeth (Stanley Smith) and Shirley (Gil Langley).
