Samuel C. Frey, 78, of Point Loma, died Saturday in a hospital. Cremation was planned by Greenwood Mortuary, with ashes to be scattered at sea. No services were scheduled.
Mr. Frey, a native of Canada, lived in the county 38 years and had been a merchant marine.
Survivors include his wife, Emmeline; and a brother, Ernest of Washington state.
