Goldie Pendleton Belcher, 87, of Ridgeway, passed away on August 28, 2015 at her home. She was born in Patrick County on November 4, 1927 to the late, Clora Clemon DeHart Pendleton and John Ellis Pendleton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Russell Ernest Belcher who passed away in 2009; sister, Edith P. Dillon; brothers, Eugene Pendleton, Coy E. Pendleton, Herman E. Pendleton, Alvin E. Pendleton and son-in-law, Gene Bullins.

Mrs. Belcher was employed at E.I. DuPont for 38 years and she was on the bowling team at DuPont. She was a long standing member of Morgan Ford Christian Church where she was a former President of the Christians Women's Fellowship. Goldie was in the first graduating class at Woolwine High School and graduated where she was a standout player on the girls' basketball team. Goldie began painting at 70 years of age, was a published poet and an avid flower gardener.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Belcher (Donald) Chappell of Martinsville, Vickie Belcher Gregory of the home and Peggy Belcher Bullins of Martinsville; sisters, Lakie P. Lawless of Danville, and Queenie (Penny) Dilworth of Winston-Salem, N.C. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Donald Chappell II, Brian Chappell, Kevin Gregory and Kari Beth Bullins; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Chappell, Danielle Chappell, Dylan Chappell, Madelynn Chappell and Paisley Hylton.

The funeral service is on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel with Lawrence Harris officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service and other times at the home. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park.
