Mr. Artz was born in Sacramento, Pa.0n January 18th, 1915, he was a son of the late Elvin and Beulah (Koppenhaver) Artz. He worked as a self employed coal miner. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, Pa. He was also a member of Hegins Fire Co., Liberty Hose Co. #2 , Lykens, Pa., Veterans of Foreign War, Valley View, and American Legion Post 575. He served in the U.S. Army in World War WarII. He was the widower of Arlene( Williard) Artz. He was Previously marred to Mae ( Cunningham) Artz who died Mar. 29, 1970.
