Funeral services for Ernest F. Scales, who died on Saturday, were held on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. at Seydler-Hill Chapel. Dr. R. C. Hammock officiated , with interment in the Masonic cemetery.
Mr. Scales was born on July 7, 1910 in Iredell, to James Floyd and Emma Bertha Langston Scales, natives respectively of Hamilton County and Iredell. He was married to Ozella Bryant on June 3, 1937 in Midland, and they made their home on Route4, where he was a ranch manager and a former school teacher.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and was a graduate of Texas A&M Class of 1936.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons; a daughter, Ernestine Scales and three sisters.
