WEST MONROE, LA - A memorial services for E. Burke Cole will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 3510 Arkansas Rd., West Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. James W. Barrett, Jr. Burke donated his body to LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine, Shreveport.

Burke was born in Columbus, MS, Sept. 10, 1923 and passed away in West Monroe, Monday, November 19, after a lengthy
illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Ollie Odell and E. B. Cole.

Burke is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Isabelle Wheeler Cole; two sons, Steve Cole and wife Nan of Chatham, LA and Kirby Cole and wife Darlene of Shreveport; grandson Jeff Cole of San Antonio, TX and step-grandson Blake Ogilvie of Shreveport; sister, Florence Jordan and husband Bob of Alexandria, LA and Katherine Staes and husband Jack of Dallas, TX.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at The Oaks Nursing Home, especially Peggy Fredericks, who took such good care of Putter and could always put a smile on his face. A special thank you to Hospice Care of Louisiana for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to LSU Health Sciences Foundation in Shreveport, 1501 Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA 71103-4223 or Christians Sharing Christ Film Ministries, P.O. Box 509, Libuse, LA 71348 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
