William M. McCartney, 78, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. John Munson, 546 South Lillian street at 4:10 a.m. today.
He was the son of W.R. and Martha McCartney and was born in Libertyville, May 6, 1848 [sic]. For the last four years he had lived in Ottumwa.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Alice Munson of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Johnson's funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery.
