Obituary From Ottumwa Daily Courier, Tuesday, November 21, 1944, Page 11:

Mrs. Amanda (Mary) Wagner, 68, died at the home of her son, Frank Wagner, Ottumwa route 2, at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

She was the daughter of John and Sarah Baker and was born in Wapello county February 26, 1876. She had lived in this county her entire life. She married Peter Wagner July 29, 1896, in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death March 28, 1941.

Surviving are two sons, Frank Wagner and Joe Wagner, both Ottumwa route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Ann Kaufman, Ottumwa, and four grandchildren, Pfc. Donald William Wagner, now stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., Frank Wagner, Richmond, Va., Mary Lucille Wagner and Frances Jean Wagner, both Ottumwa route 2. Also surviving are two half brothers, John Baker, Ottumwa, and Hiram Baker, Fremont, and two half sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Brown and Mrs. Charlotte Caskey, both of Ottumwa.

A sister, Anna, and a half sister, Jane, along with her parents, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. A.D. McClure, pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God. Burial will be made in Shaul cemetery.
