Alfons was born January 31, 1932 in Altlag, Slovenia. He has been a resident of Mayfield Heights for 49 years, previously of Cleveland. Alfons has been a faithful parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for 49 years. He was a member of E.O.U.V., Bakers Local #19, and a U.S. Army veteran. Alfons moved to the U.S. from Austria in 1955. He was employed as a Baker for Catalano and Fisher Fazio. Alfons enjoyed walking, dancing, traveling and going on 32 cruises. German music was his favorite. Alfons’ family gave him the most enjoyment in life. He will be remembered most as an easy going, gentle, and caring man. Alfons was good natured, always smiling and very intelligent.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, September 3, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery.
