26 Aug 1929: Thomas H. Baney, Civil War veteran, died on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock at the county home, following a two weeks illness of complications. He was aged 92 years, 3 months, and 8 days, and was a blacksmith by trade. He was a member of the Lebanon police force in 1880, and was a boatman on the Union Canal. He was a member of the Church of the Poor. The following sons survive: Adam Baney and Edwin Baney of Reading; Solomon W. Baney of this city; John of Harrisburg; Rudolph and Harry of South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services were held from the Rohland Funeral Parlors, Fifth and Cumberland Streets, Lebanon. Pallbearers were sons Edwin, Adam, Solomon, and John. Interment was made in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News]
