Margaret was born in Cheraw, Colorado, to the late Oscar and Florence Enderud. She met and married Leo G. Hood of La Junta, CO. Margaret had a long career as executive secretary at Englewood State Bank which later became Continental National Bank. They were active participants in First Christian Church and later at Calvary Temple.
In 1991, she moved to Oregon to be near her daughter, Margaret and family who lovingly helped care for her until June of this year. Margaret’s last years in Portland were spent in Assisted Living at Hearthstone at Murrayhill in Beaverton, where she developed many friends and a reputation for her shoe collection and big smile.
Upon moving to Texas, she immediately joined her family at Allen Bible Church where she quickly connected with many people even though, “I just can’t remember names anymore.” was her frustration. She was living with her daughter, Trish, and her husband, Jim Allen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, on February 12, 1980.
Survivors include her sons, Mike Hood and wife, Glenda, of Vacaville, CA, and Jim Hood and wife, Lani, of Aurora, CO; daughters, Trish Allen and husband, Jim, of Allen, TX, and Margaret Jay and husband, Glenn, of Tigard, OR; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
