Tom was the son of Charles Taylor Lafon and Mary Janie Bowen Lafon. He was preceded in death by his four brothers Tom, Clay, Isaac, and Ray LaFon; one sister Virgie Fitzpatrick; and is survived by his two brothers Jim LaFon of Huntington, WV and Rush LaFon of North Carolina.
