Obituary

Orlan H. Stamer, the son of Arnold and Helen Kniese Stamer, was born February 28, 1934 in O'Brien County, Iowa. He attended country schools, after which he attended auctioneer school. He was employed by the Lange-Miller Grocery Store in Germantown as a grocery truck driver. He also worked at the Sheldon Livestock barn.

On September 30, 1951, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Mesner at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. After their marriage, the couple farmed at Granville before moving to Lake Park in 1960, where they farmed until 1964 before moving back to Granville. In 1973 he established Stamer Farm Service with his son, Allan, in which he was a partner until 1985.

Orlan passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 1987 in the Baum Harmon Hospital in Primghar, reaching the age of 43 years and 22 days.

He was baptized on March 18, 1934 and later confirmed on March 22, 1951 and was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown.

Orlan leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Geraldine of Granville; his children: Allan and daughter in law Marge Stamer of Granville, Daniel and Daughter in law, Joanne Stamer of Paullina and Marilyn and son-in-law, Seve Bierman of Marcus; five grandchildren; three brothers: Armond J. Stamer of Chula Vista, California and Harold Stamer of Granville, two sisters: Mrs. Sherwood (Elaine) Otto of Hartley and Mrs. Donald (Clarice) Moding of Harvest, Alabama; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dale.
