Mr. J.B. Smith, an old soldier, who has been very low for the past three months, passed peacefully away at his home on Wednesday of last week, aged 57 years, 4 months and 23 days. Funeral services were held in the Troy Center M.E. church Friday at 1 o'clock. Rev. Fradenburg officiating. The remains were taken to the Diamond cemetery for interment. Mr. Smith leaves a wife, adopted daughter and a large host of friends to mourn his loss.
