Born in Washington, DC, he was the loving son of Ulysses S. Evans and Christinia Mae LeTellier originally of Knoxville, Tennessee. Was a brother to a beautiful family of nine sisters and one brother. Husband to Marjorie Louise Shepherd and father to five children. He dedicated his life serving his country first in the US Navy beginning in the early 1930's through WWII. After the war, he began a career in the Federal Government. His biggest career achievement was working at the Army Map Service where his talent with photography and satellite imaging helped the United States move into the early stages of satellite mapping. In this capacity, he was a valuable asset during the Cuban Missle crises.
