ADVANCE, Mo. -- Laura "Freda" Kirkpatrick, 82, of Columbia, Mo., formerly of Advance, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at Columbia Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Octa, Mo., daughter of Joseph Bradford and Laura White Kelley.
She and Sterling O. Kirkpatrick were married June 24, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. He died Feb. 3, 1997.
For many years, she and her husband were owner/operators of Gambles Store in Advance.
Kirkpatrick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Advance.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Kirkpatrick of Bowling Green, Mo., Daryl Kirkpatrick of Columbia; two brothers, Carson Kelley of Delta, Mo., and Carl E. Kelley of Kisse Mills, Mo.; a sister; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Friends may call from 4:30-8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clinton Woodfin officiating. Burial will be in Grassy Cemetery at Grassy, Mo.
