She is survived by daughter, Catherine Stiele and husband Edward of Eden Prairie, MN; sons Preston E. Best, Jr. of Orlando, FL, and Christopher O. Best of Sarasota, FL. Four grandchildren, Jill Selchow and husband Patrick, Amy Lunski and husband Dean, Sara Stiele, and Samuel Stiele and wife Kim; and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Jean Crone and Margaret Oland of Frederick. She was preceded in death by sisters Fern Day, Catherine Routzahn, Nell Miller and brothers Bruce, James, and Frederick Oland. She will also be remembered by many friends and relatives.
June was a graduate of Frederick High School and a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick. She helped to organize the ladies auxiliary of the Civitan Club and served as one of the first club presidents. June was avid gardener and duck pin bowler, at one time holding several Maryland state records. She loved the beach and vacationing with family.
June worked many years for Parsons Department Store in downtown Frederick and The Bon Ton at the Frederick Towne Mall.
The service will be Friday, September 18th at 2 pm in the mausoleum at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Rev. Harry C. Cole officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238 or the Calvary United Methodist Church, 131 W 2nd St, Frederick Maryland.
